Okanagan Clogging' is a clogging group based in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada.
Clogging is an American folk dance that began in the Appalachian mountains and dates back to the first settlers. As the Appalachians were settled by the Irish, Scottish, English and Dutch-Germans, the folk dances of each area met and began to combine in an impromptu foot-tapping style, the beginning of clog dancing as we know it today. Modern clogging is done to many types of music and has enjoyed widespread popularity throughout the world. It is a lively, energetic dance that is great exercise and so much fun! We dance to a variety of music - Bluegrass, Oldies, Country, Pop & Celtic. No partner required.
Clogging Classes are offered at the Parkinson Rec Centre, and at the West Side Senior Centre. For more information on joining the fun, contact Okanagancloggin@hotmail.com
